About KeyTestHubs

A small independent site for people who rely on their keyboards.

KeyTestHubs is a one-person project. I'm a web developer and I built the Keyboard Tester because checking a keyboard shouldn't mean installing software or wading through pages full of pop-ups. You open the page, press your keys, and you know in a minute whether something's wrong.

Why a keyboard tester?

A single dead or sticky key can wreck a laptop, and it's very easy to miss when you're buying second-hand. Most people just don't realise a free web page can check every key. So I made one that's quick, clear and keeps out of your way.

How it works, and what it doesn't do

Everything runs inside your browser. When you press a key, the page lights up the matching key on screen. Nothing you type is saved, and nothing is sent to a server. I also try to be honest about the limits. Browsers can't see every key. The Fn key, for example, is handled by the keyboard itself on most laptops, so no website can detect it.

The guides

The articles on this site are written to help you actually fix a problem, not just describe it. If a step in one of them didn't work for you, or you spotted a mistake, please tell me through the contact page. I read every message and I fix what's wrong.

More tools are planned, such as screen and hardware checks. If there's one you'd like, send me the idea.
